What Is BLP Bakuchiol 99% Liquid?
Bakuchiol comes from seeds and is supplied at not less than 99.0% by HPLC. The supplier describes it as photochemically and hydrolytically stable, with a good safety profile in human repeat insult patch testing when properly used. The INCI is Bakuchiol and the CAS number is 10309-37-2.
Key Properties
Retinol alternative
It is a popular choice for people who cannot tolerate retinol.
Day use
Stable to light and water, it can be used in day products.
Antioxidant

Where It Is Used
Use it in facial oils, anhydrous serums and creams. Dilute it in jojoba oil or argan oil for an oil serum. More actives are in our active ingredients category.
How to Use
Bakuchiol is oil soluble. Add it to anhydrous products, or to the oil phase of an emulsion before emulsifying. Avoid prolonged heating of the oil phase above 75°C (167°F). The typical usage is 0.5 to 1.0%. Do not put it into purely water-based products, as it will not be properly diluted.
Compatibility and Technical Notes
Avoid iron and copper ions, which can cause color; 0.1% disodium EDTA or sodium phytate solves this. Products with water should have a pH below 6.5. Use opaque, airless packaging and avoid long exposure to sunlight or heat. Do not exceed the recommended rate and patch test first. This is a raw cosmetic ingredient for cosmetic use only.
