BLP Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 Peptide Solution is a ready-to-use liquid form of Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, a peptide chosen for eye contour products. The supplier positions it for gels, serums and emulsions where a reduction in the look of puffiness under the eyes is wanted. It is transparent, mixes into water and needs no heating.
What Is BLP Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 Peptide Solution?
The raw material is based on Eyeseryl from Lipotec: Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 supplied as a solution in water and butylene glycol. The active content is 0.1% Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 (1 g/L). According to the supplier, studies at a very low level of 1% were run to find the minimum amount with a measurable effect, and both eye bag volume and dark circles were moderately reduced. Up to 10% can be used for a stronger effect.
Key Properties
Built for the eye area
The peptide is described as having anti-edema properties, which is why it is mostly used in under-eye products rather than full-face creams.
Self-preserving carrier
Butylene glycol at 42 to 58% acts as the preservative system of the raw material, so the liquid stays stable for at least two years in a closed container.
Transparent and easy to add
The clear solution keeps eye gels crystal clear and blends without a solubilizer.
Where It Is Used
The main uses are eye gels, cooling roll-on serums, eye creams and eye patches. Many eye products combine the Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 solution with a second peptide for the look of crow’s feet, for example our Acetyl Octapeptide-3 peptide solution. For a lighter, more hydrating feel, add a hyaluronic acid from our hyaluronic acid range. More water-soluble actives for the eye area can be found in the peptides category.
How to Use
Incorporate the Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 solution at the final stage of production when the batch is below 40°C (104°F). The supplier recommends 1 to 10%. Mix gently until fully dispersed.
Compatibility and Technical Notes
It works in water gels, gel-creams and light emulsions. Because butylene glycol makes up roughly half of the liquid, account for it in your humectant total so the product does not feel sticky at higher use levels. Handle the open container with clean tools to avoid secondary contamination.
Characteristics
INCI: Water (and) Butylene Glycol (and) Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5. Active content: 0.1% Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5. Appearance: transparent solution. Solubility: water. Manufacturer: Lipotec. Country of origin: Spain. CAS number: not stated by the supplier.
Example: Cooling Under-Eye Gel (50 g)
Disperse 0.25 g xanthan gum in 2 g glycerin, then stir into 41 g distilled water until smooth. Add 5 g of the Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 solution, 1.25 g aloe vera juice and 0.5 g of a suitable broad-spectrum preservative. Adjust pH if needed, mix slowly and fill into a 15 mL roll-on bottle or airless pump. Store the finished gel in a cool place.
Storage
